Pupil Centred Curriculum
First Steps
Our 5-16 curriculum is pupil centred and concentrates on what pupils need to learn. It builds on the work of the Swiss Cottage Teaching Schools Alliance and is broken down into three bands: Pre Formal, Semi-Formal and Formal.
Pupils are supported to access the curriculum so they can gain the knowledge and skills they need to become as independent as possible.
Next Steps
Before and after the the 5-16 curriculum is the Early Years and Post-16 curriculum. The Early Years Curriculum supports pupils as they step into education helping them to understand the world around them, whilst the Post-16 Curriculum has a focus on enabling pupils to make the next step beyond School.
